Job Role: Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: North London

Contract: Full-time, Part-time and Flexible working

A specialist school in North London are looking for talented and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties. We are looking for candidates with experience supporting people who require moving and handling, hoisting and providing personal care in a Care or Education setting.

Main Duties:

  • Attend to pupils’ personal needs, including social health, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
  • Provide clerical/administrative support to the assigned teacher, e.g. photocopying, typing, filing and record keeping
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of individual education plans (or other pupil-specific plans)
  • Monitor and evaluate pupils’ progress and maintain pupil records
  • Use specialist knowledge or experience to support pupils’ learning
  • Liaise with parents, carers and professional staff (such as educational psychologists) in order to promote the learning objectives of each pupil Use initiative to develop and implement actions that will promote the integration of the pupil with his/hers peers

Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
  • Willing to travel
  • Have an overseas criminal clearance or willing to apply for one
  • Have a child enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one
  • Minimum of six months UK residency
  • We do not accept those on skilled worker visas
  • Please ensure you have references available upon request covering the last 24 months of employment
