About the role

We are seeking a Civils Operative to safely undertake, generally as part of a team, a broad range of (manual) tasks requiring extensive technical and practical knowledge and skills in the delivery of CORMAC’s operational services.

You will occasionally be responsible for the direction of junior operatives, making decisions relative to the carrying out of normal duties and referring any other decisions to the line manager.

What you will be doing; 

Undertaking a broad range of (manual) civil engineering and construction related tasks requiring extensive technical and practical knowledge and skills Ensuring the safety of yourself, colleagues and the public Keeping co-workers safe, follow procedures and report unsafe practice. To be responsible for stopping works and actively challenging unsafe practice Reporting safety incidents including near misses Ensuring good environmental practices are observed Ensuring all driver / vehicle records are maintained. Drive / operate vehicles and plant. Directing and / or provide support to less experienced operatives Performing other duties as from time to time may be reasonably required

About you

We are looking for you to bring:

Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act Ability to achieve NVQ in a relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience. CSCS Registration or equivalent in a related area Extensive technical and practical knowledge and skills in line with the delivery of a broad range of construction and civil engineering manual tasks including but not limited to surfacing, patching, drainage and kerbing. Proven ability to provide support, and demonstrate routine duties, to less skilled operatives Good verbal, problem solving skills. Full UK Driving Licence
