As a Product Owner for Virgin Experience Days, you will be a key part of a growing team that is transforming the way people enjoy, discover, select and engage with our leading range of Experience Gifts.

Following a recent investment in the business, our technical and product teams are tasked with delivering a new digital vision for Virgin Experience Days (UK) and Virgin Experience Gifts (USA) across mobile, tablet and web for both consumers and corporate customers.

We need you to help us:

  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to gather, understand and prioritise business requirements, logically assess business cases and develop relevant KPIs.
  • Engage stakeholders at all levels to ensure that the backlog prioritisation meets the needs of the business and develop delivery roadmaps to visualise the development pipeline for your workstreams.
  • Translate business requirements into useful user stories and acceptance criteria for the development teams.
  • Use data led insights to identify growth opportunities by improving the digital CX and site functionality, aiming to grow both revenue and conversion.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and interact with multi-disciplined development teams, to evolve our processes and their specific products ensuring that there is a clear understanding of what we are delivering on each product plus the associated costs, benefits and timelines.
  • Own the roadmap for your product ensuring that it is prioritised effectively
  • Facilitate decision making with stakeholders and the agile development team by owning and leading scrum ceremonies.
  • Investigate solutions using a range of approaches, including researching competitor products, commercially available platforms and potential partners. 
  • Understand, analyse and document current processes and workflows. Identify and propose opportunities for improvement. 
  • Gain approval and sign-off on new projects through demos and user acceptance testing. 
  • Own taking the deliverables to market by managing the release process and communication.
  • Track impact of new features and share this with the wider business.
What you'll need:

  • A complete customer focus backed by commercial awareness, quickly able to assess potential business opportunities.
  • Ability to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts and be able to explore and evaluate them systematically. 
  • Ability to work with and manage technical resources including: UX, Engineering and QA.
  • Experience in an D2C eCommerce environment, with knowledge of user experience, commerce systems, conversion rate optimisation and integrations. 
  • An interest and understanding of relevant commerce technologies.
  • Ability to confidently and effectively present options and recommendations to stakeholders. 
  • Resolve project issues and mitigate risks proactively. 
  • Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively with stakeholders and stay open to ideas/suggestions
  • Ability to see opportunities and pivot quickly to take advantage of them.
  • Capability to use data to support decisions and propose improvements to the customer journey and internal processes.
  • Background in managing digital projects and products, in a customer centric environment.
  • Ability to work in a Scrum/agile software development environment. 
  • Ability to present complex technical solutions to stakeholders, bridging the gap between the technology and business teams, ensuring a shared vision and understanding.
  • Evidence of problem-solving ability and providing creative solutions. 
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Demonstrable experience of using relevant planning and development tools like JIRA, Confluence and Lucid chart.
  • Experience working in rapid paced small to medium businesses.
  • Interpreting multiple sources of data to form, develop and make evidence-based decisions.
