Our community midwives promote normality and the use of alternative therapies for the benefit of all women. If you are looking for the opportunity to work innovatively, usinga continuity of carer model, utilizing and developing your midwifery skills within a successful community team then this may be the opportunity for you.
You must be flexible, having the ability to work across a large geographical area and to participate in our on-call rota and shiftsas required to support the hospital, homebirth and the midwifery led unit.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered midwives to join our Community Midwifery Team for Walsall Healthcare Trust. You will be experienced, enthusiastic and caring and must be able to work autonomously, demonstrating excellent clinical skills to provide effective, individualised women centered will be the named midwife for a designated caseload of women, providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, in the home environment and within midwife led settings, providing one to one care during labour.
About us
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 286,700, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and the continued upgrading of existing areas ensures the Trust now has a state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit facilities. Work is also well underway on its multi-million pound new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre which will house a new Emergency Department (including Children's Emergency Department), co-located Paediatric Assessment Unit, Acute Medical Unit and Urgent Care Centre. This is scheduled for completion this year.
