Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Sister to help lead our team at Deal Hospital.

Our inpatient care and management is overseen by a Matron along with a team of Registered Nurses, Healthcare assistants, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists Rehabilitation assistants, Care management staff, a Pharmacist and our visiting medical officers.

At our Community hospitals we provide a range of comprehensive healthcare services for patients over the age of 18 and in some sites also outpatient services.

Main duties of the job

Under the direction of the Matron, you will be responsible and accountable for the holistic care of a named group of patients.

You'll delegate for the Matron at clinical forums and provide clinical and managerial leadership to nurses and health care assistants.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Registered health care professional (NMC or HCPC registration) / minimum of 3 years of experience in health improvement environment

Desirable

PRINCE 2 or equivalent project management training

Qualifications

Essential

Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6

Desirable

PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education

Qualifications

Essential

Evidence of Specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice (examples -: non-medical prescribing; mentorship, coaching, clinical expertise)

Desirable

Management or supervisory qualification or experience of study Working towards Master level study

Experience

Essential

Minimum of 5 years' experience in area of practice. Practical experience in managing health related projects/complex caseloads

Desirable

Experience of leading and managing teams

Knowledge

Essential

Understanding of National Service Frameworks and NICE guidance to relevant to care setting and its application across health care services. Evidence of continued relevant professional development and implementation in practice within the last 12 months
