The Sr. Manager , Software Engineering (UK & Europe) is responsible for the execution of strategies of the product roadmap, enhancements to existing clientCovetrus apps and overallalignment with company goals and objectives. Provides management and leads the day-to-day for the successful delivery of software development, enabling the organization to achieve its goals in a competitive and complex business environment. 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in math / computer science / engineering or science discipline is required.

5+ yearsdemonstrated experience managing a team of developers is required ideally in a SAAS product environment.

10+ years of professionalExtensive experience in the field of Software Development and Engineering Hands on Software development experience

Responsibilities:

Overall responsibility in the Software Engineering solutions and provides management to maximize productivity and on-time delivery of results. Leads the efforts to work collaboratively with software engineers with an expert understanding of working in an agile software development methodology to deliver regular builds of high-quality software.

Works within a global Engineering organizational matrix

Works with stakeholders to define and execute on a superior overall user experience / usability approach / design.

Provides innovative leadership on the design and implementation of robust and scalable applications. 

Provides peopleleadership, mentors and develops a talented software engineering team as a cohesive, high-performing group. 

Technical leader with the vision and ability to drive the architecture, design, and development to deliver production technical solutions/ services/ specifications to market, leveraging agile development methodologies.

Stays current of new technology developments and examines opportunities to apply the new technology advancements where appropriate. Translates the business technology concepts/capabilities to concepts that are consumable by non-technical people. 

Partners with the business to ensure solution supports business in the immediate and future needs.

Drives estimation and planning for a team of software engineers

Capability to quickly learn and assimilate new skills and technologies in a fast-paced atmosphere 

Proven experience leading technical teams in an agile environment 

Exceptional written and oral communications skills 

Self-driven initiative to ask questions, learn, and identify resolutions 

Works well with others in small, collaborative groups 

Drive to acquire new skills and concepts 

Effective time management in an agile work environment 

Ability to perform well under pressure and be resourceful in meeting our internal and external deadlines. 

Proven history of strong software development and architectural skills
