Product Metallurgist

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Product Metallurgist at our Blaenavon Site. The successful candidate will be responsible for metallurgical compliance of forged products produced within Blaenavon Forgings Ltd.
Additional duties will include:
•Metallurgical design, development and analysis of the product to ensure material properties achieve specification for the Customer and implemented in the applicable control systems.
•Responsibility for identifying potential opportunities for product/process development and implementing through structured project, assessing product performance through data collection that may be used for improvement, development, etc.
Essential experience/qualifications:
•Degree/ Masters / PhD qualified in Metallurgy or Materials Science and Engineering.
•Experienced with forging, thermomechanical processing, heat treatment, and release testing requirements
•Experience of working within a highly regulated manufacturing industry (e.g. Alloy Processing, Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Automotive, etc.)
•Exposure of working with Nickel, Steels, Stainless Steels, Titanium and Cobalt alloy systems. #
Desirable experience/qualifications:
•Experience of New Product Introduction and Product Management
•Experience of Non Destructive Testing
