Health and Safety Manager

You will report directly to the VP of Operations. In this position, you will be tasked with creating, implementing, and managing health and safety policies and programs to maintain a safe work environment for all employees and subcontractors. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Provide training and support to employees on health and safety practices and emergency procedures.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and teams to promote a culture of safety on all job sites.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety performance and prepare reports for management.
  • Stay updated on relevant legislation and industry trends related to health and safety.
  • Consistently assess and revise the company's Health & Safety Program to ensure compliance with the latest OHSA regulations and to uphold certifications such as COR/ISO.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in health and safety management in the construction industry within a General Contractor focusing in the ICI sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven Leadership skills with the ability to influence others to follow safety practices, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ideal candidates should have in-depth knowledge of the Ministry of Labour (MOL) and experience with complex high-rise equipment protocols.
  • Ability to travel to various site locations from Oakville to Scarborough.
