API Integration Engineer (Permanent)

Bellrock Group are looking for an API Integration Engineer to work in our SaaS product team (Concerto), to lead the design and build of software integrations between our products and our customers' external systems.


As an API Integration Engineer at Concerto, you will design and build software integrations between Concerto products and with our customers' external systems.

This customer-facing role involves facilitating requirements gathering sessions with both technical and non-technical customers. You will design, document, and deliver reliable integrations between software systems, defining architectural patterns and approaches along the way.

Additionally, you will lead the design and development of our API-as-a-product, ensuring it supports both our internal UI developers and external integrations, with a focus on quality and reliability.

And as a API Integration Engineer with Concerto, your responsibilities will be to..

  • Develop and maintain software integrations between our software products and external customer systems.
  • Define our integration architecture and implement common approaches, ensuring solutions are well-architected and scalable, considering resiliency and observability.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with our customers, articulating how their data integration problems can be solved.
  • Produce technical documentation that defines approach, interface contracts and usage guidance to support customer implementations.
  • Lead on the design and development of our API-as-a-product offering, ensuring it delivers for both internal and external integration requirements.


What does it take?

  • 4+ years commercial experience in .NET (C#) development roles across multiple organisations, with a focus on building APIs and integrations.
  • Strong communicator, comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical customers, documenting their requirements and taking the lead in technical discussions.
  • Proven ability with implementing a variety of integration patterns, including batch CSV files, HTTP APIs and event-based, knowing when is best to apply each of those patterns.
  • Exceptional knowledge of building APIs using .NET Core, Entity Framework and SQL Server, with a solid understanding of best practices and principals in RESTful API design.
  • Innovative thinker, capable of defining our future integration architectures and patterns, incorporating cloud-based integration technologies (Azure preferred) into our solutions.
  • A history of developing resilient and well tested code, using TDD techniques and libraries for unit/integration/functional testing.
  • Proficient in the following supplementary technology and patterns: Git, Docker, Azure DevOps, CQRS/Mediatr, Fluent Validation, MassTransit, Dependency Injection, NUnit, Moq.
  • Any knowledge of ASP.NET Web Forms / ADO.NET for our legacy tech stack would be beneficial.


** Highly desirable experience **

  • Facilities Management industry experience - Integrating with other CAFM, Finance or ERP systems will set you apart for this role.
  • Cloud-based integration technologies (Azure preferred) and cloud-native software development experience.


Working arrangements

In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work a mix between the Liverpool office (1 to 2 days per fortnight) and from home.
