Cheshire East Council is currently involved in some innovative work streams within the Community Teams as they are part of the wider Care Community Partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Social Workers to increase their core skills and Social Work values. We are looking for Social Workers who can work in a fast-paced adult community setting and will need to have good communication skills, decision making skills and the ability to be creative in their work. The successful applicants will need to be able to adopt a flexible approach to their work and be a good team player. The successful candidates will support the Adult Community teams and the reablement service by supporting with hospital prevention, hospital discharges, assessments, safeguarding concerns, capacity, and best interest decisions and have a good understanding of risks.

The Candidates will need to have an understanding of the Home First agenda and be able to be person centred and focused on strengths-based practice, either within the individual’s own home, hospital, or Care Home. You also need to have an understanding of Mental Capacity, Best Interests, and the adult safeguarding process. Cheshire East Council have great opportunities for learning and development, and you will be part of supportive and well managed team and some home working is available, but you will be provided with management support and oversite as needed.

What we are looking for:

Enthusiastic Social Workers who have knowledge of adult safeguarding, mental capacity, and Best Interest decisions. The candidates should be self-motivated with excellent communication skills and the ability to work both autonomously within the Adult Community Teams and wider multi-disciplinary arena. Good organisational and time management skills.

 It will be essential for the post holder to work autonomously within the Council’s policies and professional practice, in addition to maintaining accurate and comprehensive client documentation.

The post holder will be linked either with the Macclesfield Adult Community team or the Knutsford, Poynton, Wilmslow Adult Community team. However, it may be a necessary to travel to other areas within the Council. Therefore, the candidate needs to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle to access the community and undertake visits and training needs.
