Our client, an outstanding-rated secondary school in Hackney, Central London is seeking an exceptional Head of English to lead their dynamic English department. About the Role
As Head of English, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the department's vision, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Providing strategic leadership and guidance to the English department
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive English curriculum
- Overseeing the professional development of English teachers
- Monitoring and evaluating the department's performance
- Promoting a love of English literature and language among students
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A recognized teaching qualification (QTS or PGCE)
- A strong academic background in English language and literature
- A minimum of five years' experience teaching English at secondary level
- Proven leadership and management skills
