Main duties of the job

Your Role:

Provide high-quality, evidence based psychological 1:1 and group interventions for clients. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans Engage in regular supervision and continuous professional development Contribute to team meetings and training sessions Maintain accurate and timely client records Communicate effectively with clients, families and professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

Person Specification

Education/Qualificatio

Essential

Qualification from CYPWP Training Course (Post Graduate Certificate or undergraduate course) Or, an experienced and qualified graduate mental health worker with a Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Mental Health Care or equivalent BABCP and or BPS registered/registerable or working towards registration'

Desirable

Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy. Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree. Psychology or other health related postgraduate degree

Knowledge

Essential

Experience of working as a children and young person psychological wellbeing practitioner / graduate mental health worker in a primary care setting Experience of routine outcome monitoring Experience of working in the local community Experience of multi-agency working Demonstrate an understanding of parenting and behaviour management interventions Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding school and education and the impact it can have on mental health Knowledge of child protection issues, safeguarding and other relevant legislation

Desirable

Knowledge of child psychology and development Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care

Ability to meet agreed / specified service targets Ability to manage own caseload and time Demonstrates high standards in verbal and written communication Able to write clear reports and letters to referrers Excellent IT skills Has received training (either formal or through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice Ability to build good rapport with children, young people and parents / carers. Ability to use supervision to guide case management
