We are recruiting to 0-19 (Rotherham Children's Public Health Nursing Service) Matron role and want an enthusiastic passionate candidate to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Care Group Management Team and with colleagues across Children and Young People Services and the wider Place.

The post holder will ensure that high quality safe care is intrinsic to their everyday practice and that of colleagues, supported by strong governance and robust leadership qualities to support our children and families in the community and linking in to the acute Trust.

Main duties of the job

The role of the 0-19 matron is a fundamental and intrinsic role as a key member of the senior leadership team within children's services and the wider Care Group.

The successful candidate will be a visible presence across the 0-19 team. Role modelling and professionalism are key elements of the role, which includes being professionally curious and being a critical friend both within the care group and wider across the organisation.

Working closely with our commissioners in relation to delivery and development of service.

All of the above is created through an inclusive culture, supported through open and honest communication with both colleagues and our children, young people and their families that we support and care for. High standards and high expectations are key in ensuring high quality governed service delivery which is responsive to the needs of our community and supporting the reduction in health inequalities for the population.

Quality improvement is a key aspect of the role and needs to be developed and encouraged across all areas within the matrons remit and nurtured within all colleagues, ensuring patient safety and experience alongside staff engagement and experience is underpinning everything we do as a team.

Registered Nurse, 1st level with current NMC Registration Holds Specialist Community Public Health Nursing degree (Health visiting or School Nursing) qualification Clinical experience relevant to this post Post-graduate qualification relevant to the role

Desirable

Recognised leadership or management qualification Masters Degree

Experience

Essential

A proven track record of operational management at a senior level in a Community environment, including staff, financial and change management. Proven track record of delivering the quality agenda, ensuring patient safety is paramount and at the forefront to planning services and resource allocation. Demonstrable previous success in leading and delivering change and performance with and through clinical teams, engaging them in the strategic direction and delivery plans. Establish clear work priorities delegates appropriately and effectively, ensuring a capability to deliver, monitoring performance and giving feedback Experience of managing a budget within a clinical area. Ability to think and plan, tactically and creatively. To prioritise work programs in the fact of competing demands. A good understanding of the changing NHS environment.
