About the school: Catering for young people between the ages of 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) as well as other difficulties such as ADHD and Autism. Committed to creating an inclusive, supportive, and nurturing environment where every student can thrive. They believe that mental well-being is crucial to academic success and personal growth.
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a real difference in students' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with emotional, social, and mental health challenges.
- Work closely with teachers and mental health professionals to create a positive learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students experiencing difficulties.
- Help implement personalised support plans for students.
- Promote positive mental health strategies within the school.
- Assist in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
- Monitor and report student progress and any concerns to relevant staff members.
Requirements:
- Experience in working with children or young people, especially those with mental health challenges.
- A genuine passion for supporting mental health and well-being.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive in challenging situations.
- A willingness to work as part of a team and adapt to the needs of the students.
- Any relevant qualifications or training in mental health, psychology, or SEN (Special Educational Needs) would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
