Job Overview

Working to with across our Lutterworth campus with one of the UK’s largest energy providers, the data scientist will be key in improving future forecasting both within operations as well as to provide an improved service to the customers nationwide fleet of field engineers. The data scientist will be key in driving the correct business decisions supporting the success of two warehouse sites & supply chain operation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Working with data both internally and from the customer to understand demand profiles for field requirements & returns.
  • Exploring the use of AI & machine learning tools to support the transformation of both the logistical & warehousing areas of the business.
  • Assist in the creation of reports to effectively measure success of all supply chain & warehouse processes and feedback into the operations teams.
  • Support in the production of regular reporting streams for use within business reviews as well as producing adhoc reports when required.
  • Work closely with business leadership to understand there needs and where data can help us to make better decisions.
  • Attend monthly Account Review Meetings and report on current and delivered initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Educated to a minimum of A-Level standard or equivalent.
  • Highly analytical with strong data management skills.
  • Experience with a wide range of data management tools.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics industry.
  • Experience in extracting data from Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Previous experience in creating & automating detailed, granular & wide ranging forecasts
  • Enthusiastic to create change.
  • Keen interest in AI & Machine learning with the skills to implement them within our business.
  • Project management skills.
  • Understanding of Logistics / Warehouse fulfilment operations would be an advantage but is not essential.

 

 

 

Experience

 

  • Experience of using complex data sets to support the direction of travel in past business’
  • Experience producing complex forecasts through detailed analysis.
  • Proven ability to use data to tell a story to a variety of stake holders.
  • Past experience with machine learning & AI extremely advantageous
