Midlothian, United Kingdom Sainsbury's Full time

Why join us

Joining Sainsbury's as a Business Risk Partner means becoming an integral part of our commitment to maintaining a strong risk management framework within Sainsbury's Bank and Argos Financial Services as the Bank executes it’s transformation strategy. You'll play a crucial role in guiding and supporting the business to ensure compliance with risk standards, while actively contributing to the ongoing improvement and streamlining of control systems and processes and the maintenance of key data we share with strategic partners. With opportunities to collaborate with key stakeholders, drive change and efficiency through our risk management practises, you'll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering excellence in financial services and operational risk management.

What you'll do

As a Business Risk Partner at Sainsbury's, you will play a vital role in supporting Sainsbury's Bank and Argos Financial Services in operating good risk management practises by providing guidance and support across the business and strategic change programmes to ensure ongoing adherence to the standards set in the Enterprise Risk Management Framework. Your responsibilities will include leading and supporting individual Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), collaborating with key stakeholders to implement compliant control systems, identifying improvements to the control system, documenting and capturing RCSA outputs, collaborating with change management teams, and providing proactive guidance and support to management within the division. Additionally, you will support the wider Business Risk & Controls team, demonstrate flexibility in working on multiple outputs concurrently, and utilise your technical knowledge across operational risk, retail banking, and financial services regulations to drive effective risk management practises within the organisation.

Who you are

As a Business Risk Partner for Sainsbury's, you are a highly skilled professional with a strong technical knowledge across operational risk, retail banking, and financial services regulations. Your ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, facilitate change, and demonstrate influencing skills is crucial in ensuring ongoing adherence with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework. With a proactive and detail-oriented approach, you play a key role in leading and supporting risk assessments, designing and streamlining controls, and driving efficiencies in our control system as we manage risks effectively during transformation. Your commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes, managing ambiguity, and providing guidance to develop controls reflects your dedication to operational excellence and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements within the financial services industry.

We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work-life balance. That’s waiting for you at Sainsbury’s Bank. “Bank by name, Sainsbury’s by nature” is the promise line we stand firmly behind, making sure we follow through on this by always offering value, making it easy and being an ally for our customers. We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working. When you join our team, we’ll also offer you an amazing range of benefits.
