Job summary

The New Medical Centre in Brentwood Road, Romford is seeking an enthusiastic, full time Practice Manager who will oversee the efficient running of the practice. The post holder will be responsible for thepractices operations, including compliance with a variety of key regulatoryand legal frameworks, oversight of the practices business planning and thefinancial management necessary to ensure that the practice remains profitable,maximising all income streams.

Main duties of the job

The main duties ofthe role will include:

Taking leadership based on a sound knowledge ofbusiness management, finance, planning & human resource management, includingrecruitment, accurate and update polices.

Managing all income, expenditure and accounts aswell as preparing financial reports for the partners, wages and PAYE, pensionsmanagement.

Attending local meetings

Responsible for security, repairs,insurance & maintenance of the premises, services and equipment.

Presenting & analysing data to monitor quality & update protocols.

Handling patient enquiries and suggestionsincluding oversight of the practice-based complaints procedure.

Ensuring practice compliance with dataprotection legislation.

Maintaining the practices information leafletsand website.

Ensuring that the practice complies with allaspects of Health & Safety at Work legislation.

Developing the practices workforce, financialplans, ensuring all systems & processes are effectively implemented whilekeeping abreast of new technology and NHS initiatives.

Effectively managing all staff.

Implementing and maintaining systems, underdirection from the partners.

Manage computer system.

Working alongside our PCN &integrated care board (ICB) & other stakeholders such as PPG, ICM, NELFT,Havering health, taking responsibility for the development & implementationof clinical services and pathways to meet future demand.

About theCandidate

The successful candidate will understand the diverse natureof the role, be flexible and able to prioritise. They should be composed and approachable,whilst working under considerable pressure and ideally, have a good workingknowledge of the NHS. The successfulcandidate will be a strategic thinker, enthusiastic and highly motivated.

The following skills and qualifications are required:

Previous management experience and leadershipskills are essential, preferably in a healthcare environment.

A relevant qualification in business management,equivalent qualification of experience

Detailed and up-to-date knowledge of employmentlegislation, as well as experience in managing a diverse workforce.

Financial astuteness, with experience infinancial management.

A sound knowledge of business management and HRor experience.

Ability to deliver a vision, a willingness anddrive to adapt to NHS targets and business plans, whilst keeping abreast oflegislative and contractual changes.

Self-motivation and forward thinking approach.

Excellent organisational, management andplanning skills, IT skills and communication skills.

Ability to implement and manage changeeffectively.

Ability to identify training and developmentneeds in self and other as well as experience of appraising staff.
