We are seeking experienced individual who canbring passion, innovation and enthusiasm to the role of Associate Director ofOperations, this key leadership role forms part of our senior management teamresponsible for the strategic direction and operational delivery of theirrespective clinical care groups.

Main duties of the job

Thesuccessful post holder will be responsible for leadership and management acrossthe trust. You will provide strong leadership and overall strategic directionto ensure the care we provide to our patients is at the heart of all we do

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Coreto the role is oversight of delivery against key constitutional quality andsafety standards; including referral to treatment time including cancer andnon-cancer referrals, and the referral to test time for people who requirediagnostic testing. This role isaccountable to the delivery of performance of all specialties against thestandards. Responsible for patient flowthrough each acute hospital site and ensure that the principles of safe, timelyeffective care followed for all patients.Take responsibility for oversight of budgets across specialties, createand sustain a workforce for the future whilst supporting the health andwellbeing of our staff as outlined within our People Strategy. The successful postholder will lead andmanage key areas including complaints, governance, risk and quality improvementacross the Directorate.

Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification. Masters level qualification or equivalent demonstratable experience. Management qualification or post graduate diploma Evidence of continuing professional development.

Extensive experience of successful senior management and achievement in a complex organisation. Preparing and successfully implementing strategic plans. Successful budgetary management and achievement of CIPs. Demonstrates ability to develop and utilise effective professional networks Evidence of successful operational and business planning achievement. Management and Leadership of staff from a range of professional backgrounds. Knowledge and understanding of NHSLA targets and CQC requirements

Demonstrates evidence of innovation and improvement in the provision of services Project management skills
