Following the recent move of urology to Oldham, we are offering this exciting opportunity to be a part of a newly developed service to offer excellence to our patients.

The post will offer lots of additional training and personal and professional support will be provided throughout.

On our unit we offer support, both physically and mentally to all our patients from diagnosis, transitional from surgery and continually throughout their treatment plan. The acute setting can sometimes be very challenging, but is very rewarding.

The Surgical Triage Unit is a fast paced working environment which gives staff the opportunity to use multiple transferable skills to provide the highest level of care to our patients. Working in the surgical triage department will give you lots of new experiences as we take patients from multiple specialities: general surgical, vascular, orthopaedics and urology.

Main duties of the job

Due to the movement of services, the trust will ensure that all staff receive the appropriate additional training required and will receive specialist support from the urology nurses and clinicians.

A wealth of knowledge and experience anthe acute surgicalsetting which allows individuals to develop and expand on clinical opportunities to remain continually up-to-date with mandatory training and allow staff to develop by completing any extra training to expand their knowledge and clinical skills ie; Mentorship, Acute Illness Management (AIM), Intermediate Life Support (ILS) and Enhanced Recovery Programme (ERP).We believe undertaking continuous professional development is a key element of developing staff capabilities.Continually support staff to 'raise the bar' on quality to actively take part in changes and developments to benefit the ward and patient care.Deliver strong clear leadership to ensure that all staff are well led and remain motivated.Develop clinical skills in relation to caring for acutely unwell patients working closely with the 'Outreach' team. This will include specialities such as: general surgical, vascular, orthopaedics and offer continual support and guidance with our excellent preceptorship and training programme. Link nurse opportunities whilst offering flexible working.

If you are a newly qualified nurse / ODP / midwife we will pay your first years NMC / HCPC registration fee as well as pay you at Band 4 until you receive you NMC / HCPC PIN.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
