London, United Kingdom AECOM Full time
Job Description

Start here. Grow here.

Are you ready to shape the future of water infrastructure?

We’re looking for an Associate Director - Civil Engineer to join our growing Water Solutions team in London, St Albans, Croydon, or Basingstoke. In this role, you’ll support the delivery of Southern Water's £3.7 billion capital delivery programme, working on projects ranging from small rural sites to multi-million-pound schemes, covering both water and wastewater (Infrastructure and Non-Infrastructure). The frameworks run for seven and five years, respectively, with the option to extend for an additional 5 years.

You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to two major frameworks as part of this investment:

  • Strategic Delivery Partner (SDP) Framework: Supporting our Tier 1 Contractor on Lot 1 (non-infrastructure water projects) and Lot 2 (non-infrastructure wastewater projects).
  • Low Complexity Delivery Route Lot 2 (Wastewater Infrastructure) Framework and Strategic Delivery Partner (SDP) Lot 3 Infrastructure Framework: Partnering exclusively with a Tier 1 contractor to deliver sustainable, high-quality water and wastewater solutions.

Working flexibly from Southern UK locations, you’ll visit client sites in and around Brighton and collaborate with teams across multi-year frameworks. As part of our thriving business, you’ll take on rewarding multi-disciplinary projects from inception to delivery, creating innovative solutions that enhance the environment and improve communities. By joining AECOM, you’ll be provided with a comprehensive benefit package, including competitive pay, highly rated healthcare, a company pension, a car allowance and a Sharesave scheme

Here's what you'll do:

  • Provide technical leadership on projects, ensuring timely and accurate outcomes by reviewing the work produced by others.
  • Lead designs at all stages, including feasibility studies, outline and detailed designs, and prepare reports and technical specifications.
  • Oversee efficient project delivery, managing risk and ensuring projects stay on budget and on schedule.
  • Ensure quality management, compliance with standards and regulations, and offer technical expertise for interdisciplinary studies.
  • Drive success in work winning through bid management, tender production, and proposal preparation.
  • Actively contribute to the resourcing and management of both local and wider teams.
  • Take on line management responsibilities, guiding and managing junior staff, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Support the development of junior team members by mentoring them in both technical work and their progression towards ICE accreditation.

If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, AECOM welcomes you. Join our team, where we don't just construct infrastructure but also uplift communities and enhance lives.
