Our Service Desk team are passionate about what they do, and we are looking for a like-minded individual to join us. Working within our IT Helpdesk team your role will be to provide technical support to internal customers, assisting them with hardware and software problems via phone, email or onsite. We receive a high volume of tickets and it is crucial we are able to successfully troubleshoot to understand which requirements are business critical and need immediate attention and which ones can be scheduled for a later date. Communication skills are therefore crucial in this role so you can speak to whoever has an issue to better understand their problem and to allocate it accordingly. You will also be team and customer focused with the desire to help co-workers, customers and departments with any technical problems.

You will be required to work as part of an oncall rota.

What will I be doing as a IT Support Technician?

To troubleshoot and resolve issues using the IT helpdesk workflow; complete requests within stated SLA, add work logs, provide effective resolution comments and add to the solution function within the Helpdesk. To work as part of a team delivering high quality in and out of hours call handling service. Liaises with 3rd party suppliers and sources IT equipment in a cost-effective manner from recommended suppliers Communicates with internal customers via the Helpdesk, telephone or face to face. Maintains a log of any software or hardware problems detected. Allocates more complex service issues to the relevant IT member. Arranges for external technical support where problems cannot be resolved in house What are we looking for in a IT Support Technician? Ability to manage time and prioritise requests based on urgency and importance. Previous helpdesk experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Customer service focused. Team orientated attitude to help co-workers, customers and departments with technical problems. Motivation to learn new skills and Technologies. Any real world and hands on experience with the following technologies will differentiate candidates: Citrix XenApp, Windows Server , Office , Azure, Active Directory, VMWare 6.7, Teams Telephony, Network Security protocols Excellent team play Strong communication skills (verbally and written)
