Role Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented analyst that can also support our Health and Safety team in a challenging industrial environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our health and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with UK health and safety legislation, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

This role will suite a recent graduate in Chemistry/Early careers candidate. with a real interest in health and safety

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the development and implementation of environment, health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures.Collect samples for analysis in an accurate and representative way.Use a range of analytical equipment to provide fast and accurate data to a dynamic fabrication facility. Maintain equipment and analysis records in a way that complies with internationally recognized standards.Prepare and present complex data to a diverse audience in a way that is relevant and actionable.Provide advice and support to departments on environment, health and safety matters, including safe chemical handling and disposal.Coordinate and conduct environment, health and safety training sessions for employees, including induction training for new hires.Maintain accurate records of incidents.Liaise with department managers to addressAssist in managing workplace safety committees and meetings.Support internal and external health and safety audits.

Qualifications/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.Basic understanding of chromatography and mass spectrometry analysis techniques.Experience working in a lab environment and with hazardous materials preferred.NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent is highly desirable.Experience in a health and safety role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.An understanding of UK health and safety legislation.Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and any relevant health and safety management software.
