The IT & Scientific Computing team aims to provide world-class scientific computing facilities to the Institute's researchers. This includes personal computing equipment, communication devices, high performance networking, database and information systems, high performance computing equipment and high volume data storage systems in a controlled operational environment.
We are looking for an IT Apprentice to work in a customer-facing role with specific skills in Apple and Microsoft Windows client and server environments. Spending half your time on our helpdesk you will also be encouraged to widen your interests to cover the full range of technologies in use at the Institute. Having an ambition to work in a customer focused environment and supporting systems to support scientific research is highly desirable.
The apprenticeship requires one day per week attendance at Cambridge Regional College.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.
