Job summary

As a Healthcare Assistant you will assess clients, develop a care plan that will work for them and then, with the support and guidance of the clinical team, provide the necessary treatment.

Main duties of the job

As part of this Healthcare Assistant role, you will also help clients to take a holistic approach to their overall health and recovery journey by helping them to understand the importance of their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing too. You may also conduct health screening (Phlebotomy, BBV screening, core observations such as BP, Sats, Pulse, tools and compliance monitoring during treatment) to complement our approaches to holistic healthcare. There will be assessments to carry out and records you need to keep and update, that's all part of our professional commitment and service to our clients and commissioners.

Our Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse client group. Qualifications

Essential

Hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent. Should you be successful in your application, you will be required to provide 3 years worth of references and where applicable, will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check. This role is also subject to Staffordshire Police Vetting.

To be able to carry out this Healthcare Assistant role successfully, you will: have a successful track record of working in a healthcare setting and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team have experience of carrying out basic health observations such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and height be able to build effective working relationships with a wide range of different people and work effectively as part of a team be able to show how you have developed yourself in previous jobs be able to manage your time at work, prioritising effectively and dealing with competing demands on your time be confident in your abilities and show your enthusiasm for this role have excellent written and verbal communication skills be able to accurately collate, record, and maintain information be comfortable using IT and digital media be able to be flexible with working times and able to travel to other locations from time to time
