TheBanks real estate business involves complex and high valuetransactions (15m 100m) covering all sectors of the real estatemarket working directly with UK and international real estatecompanies.
The role involves both theunderwriting of new transactions and the distribution of assets aswell as the management of relationships at a senior level. The jobholder will be required to build and maintain relationships withcorporate CEOs CFOs and other senior executives at large UKbasedand international real estate developers and investment funds aswell as predominantly MENAbased UHNWIs and family offices and theywill have their own network of both clients and real estateprofessionals (lawyers project monitors valuers etc.) to call uponasrequired.
ResponsibilitiesAccountabilities &Deliverables
- Originatestructure and develop new business in line with allocated revenueobjectives with a focus on large corporate commercial real estatetransactions between 15mm and 100mm and where necessary supportSenior Relationship Managers in progressing complex transactionsparticularly those in excess of 50mm where Group thresholds requireloan distribution and/or syndication.
- Managenew facilities from origination to closing liaising with allparties including external professional advisers lawyersintermediaries banks valuers and working through internal processesincluding inhouse legal risk management dept. loans administrationand transaction management control providing relevant internaladvice to ensure understanding between external and internalstakeholders.
- Originate develop and maintainclose and active relationships with external stakeholders includingprospective and existing clients (and their advisors and agents)counterparts banks lawyers consultants regulatory bodies and otheragencies to grow and diversify Wholesale bankings client base withprompt interventions to limit risk deterioration and restructuringof debt where necessary to achievethis.
- Originate and execute crossselling andcrossnetwork business opportunities providing support anddeveloping relationships with coverage and product specialists todeepen relationships across all products and deliver more crossborder business.
- Develop and implement activeportfolio management establishing more profitable relationshipswith Real Estate clients in order to optimize portfolio performancein line with all policies procedures standards processes andregulations.
- Develop and maintain Real Estateproducts including the required platform and any necessarydocumentation to provide leading edge products that meet the needsof customers and comply with regulatoryrequirements.
- Prepare credit applications andreview existing facilities to identify any special situationsrequiring additional review analyze and spread corporate accountsincluding financialinstitutions.
- Take responsibility foroverseeing the administration of booked transactions includingcredit reviews ongoing analysis of market conditions periodiccompliance reviews and general account and facilityoperation.
- Work liaise and manage relationshipswith cofunding banks on very high value syndicated and clubtransactions including negotiating terms and legaldocumentation.
- Familiarity with regulatorycompliance matters money laundering and know your customerprocedures.
- Raise the intra Group visibilityand positive perception of the Department by assisting other areasof the ABC Group to understand asset risk / dynamics throughprofessional presentations and/or expert witness reviews of specialcases.
- Contribute to the performance of RealEstate business providing support and assistance on Group projectswhere required and working collaboratively with colleagues acrossBank ABC to deliver profitable business in the most efficienteffective consistent and compliantway.
- Detailed assessment of downside scenariosto correctly measure risk of loss and ensure minimum provisioningis taken on portfolio and profitability maximized and securityprotected through the sale of underlyingassets.
