Main duties of the job

General Duties

Collate as required, qualitative and quantitative information and lead appropriate analysis to develop and contribute to projects.

Drafting reports summarising status on issues, appraising outcomes, and providing progress reports for the Lead Medicines Optimisation Pharmacist and Practice GP Prescribing Lead

To implement drug withdrawals and alerts, MHRA alerts, aimed at improving medicines safety.

To promote electronic prescribing services within the practice

To maximise the potential of the appropriate use of the repeat dispensing service.

To monitor adherence to the repeat prescribing policy ensuring repeat medication reviews are conducted at the appropriate intervals.

To manage and support the repeat prescribing reauthorisation process by reviewing requests for repeat prescriptions and medicines reaching review dates where required.

To provide a telephone help line for patients with questions, queries and concerns about their medication.

To liaise with community pharmacy regarding transfer from care settings and the use of monitored dosage systems.
