Ashford School is an independent, coeducational, day and boarding school for children from 0-18, founded in 1898.There are nearly 1000 students in the whole School, divided equally between the Senior School (11-18) and the Prep School and Nurseries (0-11). We expect the number of students in the Senior School to grow over the next ten years and are planning developments which will allow this to happen progressively. At full capacity there are 170 boarders in the Senior School, mostly from overseas, cared for by a number of resident teachers and support staff; 20 nationalities are represented. Physics Technician

Part-time 35 h/p/w - term time plus 3 weeks

Required June 2024


We require a passionate and capable Physics Technician to support the teaching and learning in Physics and the Science Faculty. The successful applicant will be responsible for the overall administration, organisation and provision of equipment and will assist and support the students in class where appropriate. You need to be able to demonstrate good technical and interpersonal skills, and a liking for and sensitivity to young people. You will be well organised and have a good knowledge of scientific terminology and equipment. Knowledge of health and safety and basic First Aid would be an advantage, but we will provide training if necessary. Note - We reserve the right to interview and offer to a strong candidate prior to the closing date. It is strongly recommended that candidates submit their applications as soon as possible.

Salary by negotiation and dependent on skills, attributes and qualifications of the successful candidate. Applications are welcomed from ECTs or experienced teachers.
