About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Art Teacher for this vibrant secondary school in Littlehampton. This supply teaching position offers the opportunity to engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential teaching opportunities at Key Stage 5 for a suitable candidate. The role requires delivering engaging lessons in various artistic mediums, fostering creativity, and inspiring a passion for the arts. The ability to teach Design Technology would be an additional advantage. The successful candidate will work within a team of dedicated subject specialists in a forward-thinking and motivating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Quality Art Education: Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in art and design across KS3 and KS4, with potential involvement at KS5.
- Adaptability: Quickly adapt to different classroom environments and teaching resources, maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Classroom Management: Ensure a safe and productive learning environment by maintaining discipline and managing classroom behaviour.
- Student Support: Recognise and address individual student needs, tailoring teaching strategies to support diverse learning abilities and backgrounds.
- Assessment: Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on students’ work and progress.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with school staff, including teaching assistants and fellow teachers, to provide a cohesive educational experience.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Applicants must hold QTS or an equivalent qualification recognised in the UK.
- Experience: Previous teaching experience in a secondary school setting, especially in art and design, is highly desirable. Experience in Design Technology is advantageous.
- Subject Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge and skills in teaching various art forms and techniques.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work across different schools in the Littlehampton area, sometimes on short notice.
- DBS Clearance: Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, or willingness to undergo one.
- Strong Communication Skills: Effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.
- Passion for Art: A genuine enthusiasm for inspiring and educating young people in the visual arts.
