About the role

As a Retail assistant in one of our Boots Opticians stores you will be working on the shopfloor providing a high standard of care to our customers, recommending products to aid their Eye health and lifestyle. 

You will spend time building great relationships with customers by listening and understanding their needs. This will enable you to help our customers find the perfect products tailored to their lifestyle and requirements. 

As part of this role, we will provide training to become a qualified Optical Consultant.

The role of a qualified Optical Consultant involves:

• Carrying out pre-checks on the customer before the eye examination
• Ordering and dispensing of glasses and contact lenses
• Teaching customers how to put in contact lenses 
• Providing after sales support through repairs and adjustments
• Working together as part of a team
• Completing operational and administrative tasks associated with the running of a store
• Support other colleagues within the stores to develop their knowledge

What you’ll need to have

• Passion for customer service 

It would be great if you also have 

• Experience working in retail or an optical environment
