We are seeking a friendly and hardworking individual to join our team as a Kitchen Porter at Wellington College. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our busy kitchen and supporting our chefs in preparing delicious meals for our students and staff.

What you’ll do :  

• Washing all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils and equipment, and food service equipment.
• Ensuring that the following are kept clean and tidy and to a very high standard:
  • Floors and Walls, Bins, inside and out, Crushing and disposal of cardboard and boxes, Fridges and freezers (with the assistance of chefs), Delivery areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of working areas.
• To be aware of and adhere to all health and safety, fire, hygiene, and COSHH regulations governing the work you are undertaking, and to ensure the correct chemicals and detergents are always used.
• Report all accidents (and near misses) to the chef.
• To report any shortages in equipment or chemicals to the supervisor

What you bring :  

• Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for others 
• Basic food-handling skills 
• Be physically able to lift heavy items and work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). 
• Experience in a similar profession is required.
