Job summary

As the ED Service Manager with a focus on patient flow, you will play a pivotal role in optimising the efficiency and effectiveness of our Emergency Department operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the seamless movement of patients through the ED, ensuring timely access to care, and minimizing wait times. This role is dynamic and requires the ability to adapt to fluctuating demands, coordinating resources effectively to meet patient needs.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of the Flow Co - Ordinator's within the EDs cross site. It is a fast paced and dynamic role that requires the post holder to be able to work under pressure and communicate the The post holder will be able to collate, understand and interpret complex information and present the information in an understandable way, eg write papers/reports for Executive Team level meetings This post holder undertakes a range of tasks that require the exercise of initiative to a significant level within defined limits and includes the organisational skills required to ensure the programme of works of the project are kept to the tight timeframes.

The Trust's core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.
