The position will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our supply chain operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective processes and will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to maintain a seamless and agile supply chain that supports our business objectives.

This role is based in our Head Office in Ballymena but may require travel to the UK & beyond.

About The Role

Role Summary

  • Strategic Procurement

    ·         Developing and implementing procurement strategies that are aligned with the organisation’s goals and objectives.

    ·         Conducting market research and analysis to identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors.

    ·         Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms and conditions for contracts and agreements.

    ·         Implementing strategic procurement, including sourcing strategy, supplier selection and evaluation, quality management, customer supplier relationship management and performance measurement

    ·         Ensuring timely preparation of procurement plans for projects and monitor their implementation by controlling processes including receipt of requisitions, organisation of RFQ, receipt of quotations, bids and proposals, evaluation and negotiation of certain conditions of contracts

    ·         Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual procurement plans and progress reports as required

    ·         Identifying top priority/category spend areas and put framework agreements in place, including rebate deals with agreed priority suppliers.

  • Day to Day Procurement

    ·         Managing the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and efficient execution.

    ·         Manage and resolve any issues or disputes that arise during the procurement process.

    ·         Collaborating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

    ·         Prepare and maintain accurate and comprehensive records and reports on procurement activities and outcomes.

    ·         Ensuring adherence to relevant policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.

    ·         Leading and supervising a team of procurement staff and providing guidance and support.

     

  • Supply Chain Development

    ·         Agree and implement a supply chain development plan to include our current top 80% value suppliers for both materials and trades which is aligned to our growth agenda.  The execution to include better communications processes, implementation of supplier KPIs and improvement plans, better visibility of our demand profile/forecast to them, and identification of win/win opportunities.

    ·         Monitor and evaluate suppliers' and vendors' performance and compliance and take corrective actions when necessary

  • Improvement Projects

    ·         ERP – Lead the implementation of ERP from a procurement and supply chain point of view

    ·         P2P – Implement improvement processes to simplify and remove steps from our procurement processes where suitable/applicable

    ·         Logistics/Lean—Work with our commercial and site teams to improve transport and logistics, smooth cashflow, and reduce damage and overstocking on site.

    ·         Sustainability – Support the business and our client's agenda around carbon measurement and reduction within our supply chains.

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in the Façade Industry.
  • Professional certification such as APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in supply chain management.
  • ERP Implementation experience

Required Criteria

  • 3rd level qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction or a related field and 5 years recent experience at a senior level in procurement/supply chain management & Improvement
  • Minimum of 7 years recent experience at a senior level in procurement/supply chain management or a related role.
  • Proven track record of managing & improving complex supply chain operations.
  • A track record of driving value through a structured procurement methodology
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in the Construction Industry.
