As an Engineering Manager in IMS you will be responsible for:

Leading all the Engineering aspects of the Product / Project, ensuring technical quality, schedule and budget are maintained and that the solution is in line with the Sector’s long term business plan The management of cross-site, multi-disciplined engineering teams, ensuring that roles within the teams are clearly defined Creating a positive working relationship with customers and partners, to deliver product / project capability Establishing and maintaining good lines of communication internally with the Engineering IPT, with IPT lead, Project Manager and Heads of function Providing your team with clear expectations of the projects engineering goals, ensuring adherence to company policies & procedures. Working closely with the Systems Design Authority ensuring they are fully informed on technical progress, technical risk and any mitigation strategies Ensuring the design solution meets the end user requirement, is reliable, fully documented, works within its designated environment Controlling project configuration and change management to ensure design reuse is maximised. Supporting the management of Suppliers and project Make or Buy decisions Ensuring candidate concept solutions are captured, including the results of any trade off studies and end user engagement Experience in delivery of engineering projects Ability to produce clear, concise engineering plans Good problem-solving ability Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, across multiple sites. Strong leadership competency but also can demonstrate team-working skills. Ability to manage complex situations with sound judgement Commercial and business awareness Willingness to travel within the UK and possibly overseas Engineering or scientific Degree qualification (or equivalent) Experience of working across the full development lifecycle Knowledge of Requirements elicitation, defining and qualification of software products
