Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Simulation Technician to join our Simulation Team.

This is a full-time, Band 4 post based at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, Kent but with the requirement to assist with the delivery of clinical skills and simulation education sessions across three acute hospitals within the Trust, including Kent & Canterbury Hospital and William Harvey Hospital in Ashford also based in Kent.

Main duties of the job

The role will report to the Clinical Skills and Simulation Practitioner and will provide vital technical and administrative support with activities that will include:

Providing technical and administrative support for all clinical skills and simulation-based learning and teaching activities at all sites.

Providing safe, well-equipped and managed training environments.

Providing first line care and maintenance of all clinical skills, simulation and audio-visual equipment.

Providing immediate support for technical issues across the services, particularly in support of teaching, training and bookings at all sites.

Maintain high standards of customer service within the service and maintain a high level of quality in all aspects of their work.

The successful candidate will have excellent IT and AV knowledge, skills and aptitude but a willingness and enthusiasm to learn and grow into the role will be paramount. The role requires excellent communication skills, verbal, written, digital, with a strong capacity for reflection and growth. Problem-solving, flexibility and adaptability in ensuring that the service is delivered is vital and working to deadlines under pressure is part of the role.

Maths, English, Science Grade A-C or equivalent Evidence of self-development and continuing education Professional experience NVQ/HND or equivalent qualification in healthcare science, communications, multimedia, computer science or equivalent experience

Experience of working in an acute clinical environment Experience of working within a team to deliver defined outputs within a timeframe.
