Electrical Fitter

Job Summary:   As an Electrical Fitter, you will be operating in a working shipyard and will be responsible for the electrical installation, upgrade, repair and refit in relation to projects on site. Duties to (include but not limited to) - installation and removal of electrical cables, systems and equipment, on new build projects and refits.

• Installation of all cable types (multicore, single and co axial)
• Manufacture and installation of cable containment types (tray, ladder, conduit, trunking)
• Cable terminations and installation of electrical equipment
• Carry out preventative maintenance work on plant and equipment.
• Testing of electrical systems
• Fault finding and rectification
• Assist other disciplines when required.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces

• Time served electrical fitter either in a shipyard or similar field activity where refit work was undertaken.
• Relevant qualification, indentured apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds etc..
• Understanding of electrical drawings and technical documents.
• Knowledge and compliance of work place safety.
• Work execution independently according to valid instructions, rules and other standards.
