An opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Assistant supporting and assisting commercial operations across all 3 sites, reporting to the Commercial Manager. The Commercial Assistant will provide comprehensive administration support, be flexible and adaptable in their approach to the needs of our commercial operations and team members.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
Entering customer PO’s and processing through the internal systems while adhering to export control procedures. Keeping in daily contact with a number of customer contacts to ensure their requirements and expectations are being met. Be able to work from any of our three locations, Glossop, Ecclesfield and Rotherham. Monitoring and reporting on delivery performance and escalating delivery issues to the customer against agreed delivery promises. Communicating regular status reports to the customer. Working with planning, production, and technical departments to manage delivery of customer requirements. Meeting and exceeding wherever possible, the defined levels of customer service. Communicating courteously with customers by telephone, email, letter and face to face. Investigating and solving customer issues. keeping accurate records of discussions or correspondence with customers. To work with fellow Key Account Managers and the Internal Sales Support Team. To provide and maintain market intelligence as is necessary or as reasonably directed. Monitor customer service performance / KPI trends across the business for management early warning notification opportunities. Willing to undertake UK, European and International travel if and when required.Note: This job description is a guide to the principal, current duties of the job. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to ensure effective communication with a wide range of contacts both internal and external, including building effective working relationships at all levels. Ability to work under pressure and to a defined deadline. Excellent IT skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. To foster and work to the Howmet values and Code of Conduct. Have ambition and drive to become a in the medium term should the opportunity arise. Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to respond quickly and in an organised manner. Driven and ambitious as there maybe an opportunity for growth and development, working towards becoming a Key Account Manager. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. Flexibility for occasional UK, European or international travel may be required. Desirable: Ability to speak French, Spanish and German.Experience
Desirable if have worked previously in a busy sales/customer service environment especially withinan aerospace and power generation markets along with oilfield, automotive, medical and general engineering sectors.
