Opposition Analyst - Women's Team - Cobham, Surrey

DEPARTMENT:             CFC Women’s Team

LOCATION:                   Cobham Training Ground

JOB FUNCTION:           To provide analysis and game strategy for the women’s senior team. To work closely with the analysis and coaching staff to plan game strategies and identify the strengths and weaknesses of opposition teams, our own team and individual players.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1st Team

  • To analyse games, then provide subsequent analysis and feedback to management as required.
  • To prepare and deliver video analysis presentations including, but not limited to, set pieces, training, pre-match opposition analysis and post-match reviews.
  • To produce individual player analysis to educate players as required.
  • To analyse opposition match footage, providing insights to relevant coaching staff and creating the game plan strategy with the use of telestration and animations.
  • To create in depth video and statistical reports highlighting key objective data on a game by game and longitudinal basis in relation to the playing philosophy of CFCW.
  • To provide and interpret statistics, to provide the coach and players with relevant tactical, technical and physical information.
  • To provide detailed video and data based dossiers to management on potential new players as requested.
  • To be proactive in the creation and organisation for each fixture by sharing relevant video, data and other resources with staff and players using various platforms.
  • To code and analyse CFCW 1st team matches and training sessions, including the provision of live feedback to the coaching staff.
  • To attend opposition games as required.
  • To perform other reasonable adhoc duties as required helping the performance of the women’s department.

Personal Specification.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of football operations and of CFCW / Women’s football.
  • Knowledge and working application of The FA’s player pathway framework.
  • Clear understanding of relevant regulatory bodies in the industry.

Desirable

  • Understanding of associated topic areas (Analysis/Coaching/Female Athletes/Scouting)
  • Knowledge of football data sources and the subsequent analysis of the information.

Technical/work-based skills

Essential

  • Previous analysis, coaching or scouting experience with elite female players across youth and senior levels.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, Tablets & MS Windows based computer applications, including use of MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook).
  • Knowledge and expertise of industry standard performance analysis software’s such as SBG (Focus and MatchTracker), Hudl SportsCode, Piero, Wyscout etc.

  • Good understanding of the wider business context especially the flow and process of the football dept.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships across departments in the club
  • Managing change and embedding new ways of working.
  • A great ability to reflect on current working practice & implement change where required
  • Ability to demonstrate passion & enthusiasm for your work but maintain a high degree of humility, professionalism in its delivery & when dealing with others.

Experience

Essential

  • 3-5 years of professional football support within analysis, coaching, scouting or playing at senior level.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with female athletes.
