GSL Education are seeking a passionate and supportive Learning Support Assistant to join a renowned school in Bournemouth. This full-time role is perfect for someone who is eager to make a positive impact on students’ educational experiences, offering essential guidance to those who need extra help.

The role of a Learning Support Assistant is to work closely with children, providing essential support on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Your role will focus on assisting those who need additional help with their studies, ensuring they can engage with the curriculum and succeed in their educational journey. You will work closely with teachers, delivering targeted interventions and supporting the overall development of students.

Salary: £12.82 per hour
Start Date: Immediately or January 2025
Contract Type: Full-time

Essential Skills and Qualities that we are looking from you:

  • Provide individual or small group support to students with a variety of learning needs.
  • Assist in delivering differentiated lessons and adapting materials to meet student needs.
  • Work with teachers to implement personalised learning plans and interventions.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour to create a positive and focused learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and adapt learning strategies.
  • Assist with personal care tasks where necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Promote independence, encouraging students to take ownership of their learning journey.

To get a job as a Learning Support Assistant you need:

  • Having previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational support role is not a must. 
  • A patient, caring, and encouraging approach to helping students overcome learning challenges.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with teachers and other staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the diverse needs of students and the school environment.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
