JobSummary:

Applicantsshould be able to demonstrate an understanding of Building Controlprocesses and experience working in a building control service. Thework involves managing a range of building control duties to dealwith varied projects in urban and rural locations around theCouncil area. We offer a hybrid working environment with a blend oflocal office hubs site work and home working. This role will workclosely with colleagues team members our regulatory partners andour applicants and deals with regulatory compliance enforcement andall aspects of BuildingRegulations.

The Council arecurrently seeking to recruit a BSR registered and experienced Cl 2F Building Control Inspector to evaluate applications and feescarry out plan checking site inspections provide special BuildingRegulatory advice and investigate and enforce compliance. You willhave a degree (or equivalent qualification and experience) inBuilding Control Surveying and be eligible for BSR registration asa Cl 2 building inspector. You will have strong communication ssand can show experience and evidence of working on a range ofprojects.

Key Duties(Sample):

Provide expertspecialist Building Regulation compliance advice tousers

Investigate andenforce compliance matters andcomplaints

Collect andmaintain accurate Building Regulation and Building Control recordsValidation of applications and essment offees*

Plan essmentand site inspection: regulatory advice compliance checking and siteinspection

Deal withBuilding Regulation application cases throughout plan andimplementationstages

Deal withcomplex Building Regulation cases throughout advice planimplementation and enforcementstages*

Support andguidance of less experiencedcolleagues*

Prioritisationof tasks within the team* and service delivery as part of thatteam

EssentialExperience andQualifications:

Higher NationalCertificate orequivalent

Current drivinglicence

2yearsexperience of building surveying and inspection including contractadministration
