Our client a leading value clothing retailer, backed by a global retail group are looking to strengthen their Watford based head office team with an Assistant Merchandiser. The Assistant Merchandiser supports the merchandising team to maximize sales and profit opportunities through analysis, forecasting, stock, intake and markdown management.

Conduct and compile analysis to include supplier, category, phase, colour, shape and sizing Feed into department/category SWOT and lessons learnt packs Identify trends to help make decisions for future review Conduct store visits and comp shops with buying team on a regular basis Reacting to customer and store feedback Provide analysis to support product sign off ensuring all learnings are incorporated Attend pre-selection meetings and compile any relevant analysis/next steps Maintain and update range plans ensuring full accuracy at all times Monitor planned intake margins Review sizing performance and set up new season size ratios with assistance from Merchandise Admin Assistant Support line manager to compile the sign off and strategy packs and use data to make informed contributions Demonstrate a clear understanding of the strategy to make relevant trading decisions Work with line manager to deliver against the top line planning principles, including phasing, category mixes and option counts Where a category is owned, update WSSI and sign off with Senior Merchandiser Where a category is owned, complete a first draft strategy/sign off pack and sign off with Senior Merchandiser
