Based just outside of Hales, Norfolk, Norton Subcourse Quarry produces sand and gravel.Norton Subcourse provides a fantastic opportunity for our next Quarry Manager; the quarry has seen plenty of investment and we have lots of exciting plans for the future We truly believe this is an exciting opportunity to fulfil an integral role within a growing part of the Breedon business. Not to mention there’s plenty of scope to get involved in other projects if you enjoy pushing for the next step
Key Responsibilities
As a Quarry Manager you will lead the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation of the quarry. You will support the senior management team to instil a culture of health and safety best practice by leading in the creation of a culture of SHE continuous improvement. You will also manage the maintenance and administration of all files, records, information and documentation to comply with H&S legislation, company procedures, environmental permitting for Norton Subcourse Quarry. But its not all admin, there’s still opportunity to get your hands dirty and work with our fantastic team.Other key responsibilities include:Compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, including the Quarries Regulations 1999, ISO 45001 (Health and Safety), 14001 (Environment) and 9001 (Quality) standards and associated Management Reviews. Ensuring safety is integral to site activity and all colleagues and contractors are focussed on zero harm.Ensuring the quarry operates within the scope of leases, planning consents and conditions.Management & development of Breedon colleagues and contractors to ensure competency requirements.Development and management of site production targets and cost control.Production of quality material to support customer demand. Assisting in preparation and management of capital expenditure to supports our customer and business initiatives.Ensuring positive and proactive community relations are developed.
Do you have?
Proof of competence for a Regulation 8 appointmentHave completed, or be working towards, a SHE NVQ Level 4 or QCF Level 6 qualification.An open and approachable with excellent communication skills.An understanding of finances and how they affect the sites P & LGeotechnical knowledge and understanding; how the sites changing material can affect production and quality .
