ASC - SEND Class Teacher

Protocol Education are working alongside a Wiltshire based SEN school to appoint and enthusiastic and talented teacher to join a supportive team of professionals who are committed to raising standards and using innovative ways to enhance the learning experience of our pupils. The school are in need of an outstanding classroom practitioner who has a passion for ensuring all pupils achieve their potential.

Start: July/September 2024

Employment Type: PT Mat Cover -  3 days a week, working days, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Pay: Teacher pay rates/paid to scale

Hours: School hours

The School

The schools mission is to enhance opportunities, enjoyment and outcomes for its pupils. They have an ambitious vision ‘Building community and Inspiring learning, to create a truly integrated and inclusive system of outstanding education for all young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The Role

You will be responsible for pupils within the primary age phase with complex autism and severe learning difficulties. The class follows a semi- formal curriculum, pathway, incorporating social communication and emotional regulation strategies, and is supported by an experienced team of Teaching Assistants.

You will need to have an excellent understanding of child development, and experience of teaching pupils with SEND as well as experience successfully teaching pupils with ASC. You will need to be a willing and inquisitive learner yourself and have the ability to work as a team with your own class and within the School community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
