Job summary

Are you an innovative and dynamic OT looking for an opportunity to play a key role in advancing Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust's service development?

We are looking to appoint a co-team clinical lead band 7 Occupational Therapist. You will be jointly responsible with the Clinical co-team Lead Physiotherapist for the clinical leadership of the team. The team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants.

The post holder will have a key role in advancing our services, continually promoting best practice and developing new pathways to ensure effective rehabilitation upholding GRIFT standards.

Working in the elective orthopedic center, you'll have countless opportunities to learn and develop your skills while working with medical professionals from across our Hampshire and Isle of Wight acute provider collaborative.

This role will require you to work across site between Winchester, Basingstoke, and Andover.

Main duties of the job

Provide clinical leadership within a defined therapy team and be responsible to and support the Orthopaedic Matrons and Operational Manager in the achievement of professional, operational and clinical governance objectives. Ensure the highest standards of clinical care are delivered Leading and participating in the delivery of a 7 day therapy service, providing a high standard of advanced clinical assessment, treatment and advice to patients who may have complex clinical needs. To manage the development of therapy staff and other non-clinical staff/students within area of responsibility To support the Clinical Matron and Orthopaedic Operation Manager in the review and implementation of integration and service improvement projects. To take the lead role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the specialty, and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner. To provide skilled team leadership and be responsible for service development, and to set and monitor standards of practice, implementing policy and policy changes in own clinical area. To undertake evidence-based projects, including recommendations for change in practice and to lead in departmental research and audit in their clinical area. To manage own clinical caseload on both ward and within Orthopaedic Education Follow up clinic.

Essential

Degree in Occupational Therapy Professional Registration Post Graduate Courses relevant to the clinical specialty

Desirable

Recognized post-graduate qualification MSc.

Clinical Experience

Essential

NHS clinical experience proven at Band 6/7 level Knowledge & experience of a wide range of approaches to the management of Orthopaedic and elderly patients demonstrated by advanced clinical reasoning Advanced communication skills including the ability to communicate complex and sensitive information to patients, relatives or carers, in an appropriate manner and to liaise and negotiate effectively

Evidence of ability to implement service developments. Highly specialized clinical skills across the chosen specialty

Leadership
