Area Manager(Ayrshire)

Agreat opportunity to join this growing retail business. They arecurrently looking for a area manager for the Ayrshirearea.

JobRole:

To ensurethe implementation of the Companys policies and procedures inrespect of a predetermined region of companysites.

MainAccountabilities:

  • Ensuringthat all stations are operated in accordance with the CompanysHealth & Safety policies to create a safe environment forstaff and customers.
  • To collate investigate andcommunicate any incident information in line with internalprocedures.
  • Managing communications in linewith company policy in relation to external agencies for exampleThe Press.
  • Ensuring the security of companyproperty.
  • Conducting monthly audits at eachsite to ensure the correct payments of monies and security of theCompanies stocks.
  • To regularly review the sitesat each station to ensure they are operating in line with theCompanys policies and procedures and to their maximum potential andflag any issues with appropriate management asrequired.
  • Managing and monitoring theperformance of Franchise Managers and staff at each site and ensurethat good customer practice is carried outconsistently.
  • Ensuring each site is applyingthe correct retail prices as instructed from time to time so as tomaximise fuel profit margins.
  • To select submitfor finance approval train and install and where necessary servenotice to Franchise Managers to ensure that each station has asuitable site Manager in place at alltimes
  • Monitoring training compliance across theestate to include all stakeholders.
  • Liaisingwith the nominated shop supplier to ensure effective and correctlymerchandised promotional activity within the shop and forecourt tomaximise sales and increase customerbase.
  • Liaising with the Area Manager for thenominated shop supplier to monitor and review the product range ateach site with a view to increasing turnover andprofitability.
  • To build relationships with thecompanys nominated direct supply partners and ensure that productsare merchandised and promoted effectively with each station andavailability is maintained in order to maximisesales.
  • Maintaining compliance with planogramsand range as agreed with the companys nominated suppliers toprotect company income.
  • Liaising withrepresentatives of the companys partners in order to maintain brandstandards and effectively promote the relevant loyalty schemesoperated by each supplier.
  • Ensuring the propermanagement of promotions and correct merchandising of displays toinclude Third party agreed promotions.
  • Tomonitor and review Company expenditure for each relevant stationand area to ensure the accurate recording of information and toidentify areas of improvement.
  • Ensuring thateach Franchise Manager operates within the terms of the FranchiseManager Agreement and appropriate associatedagreements.
  • Handling complaints from customersand ensure satisfactory follow up with the customer and anynecessary retraining requirements arecompleted.
  • Liaising with outside contractors toestablish and manage all maintenance issues as well as monitoringall equipment downtime.
  • Maintaining companyincome and expenditure to agreed budgettargets.
  • To support and carry out duties asinstructed from time to time from the relevant linemanager(s).

Knowledgeand SkillsRequired:

  • Aproven track record in the retail sector ideally experience of acontract management/franchise businessmodel.
  • You will ideally be an experienced areaor cluster or multi site retailer but Store Managers wanting totake that first step into area management may beconsidered.
  • High selfmotivation and disciplinewith ability to work demanding hours and prioritiseduties.
  • Outstanding communicationskills.
  • Good people skills with the ability tobuild effective relationships inspire motivate andlead.
  • A good level of numeracy and attention todetail.
  • Good financialawareness.
  • Good competitor / marketawareness.
  • Willingness to learn and take onadditional responsibilities.
  • Good teamplayer.
  • Mileage likely to exceed 40000 milesperyear.
