The West Wing Theatre Department (Plastics/Maxfacs) is looking for an experienced, passionate and dedicated scrub nurse/ ODP to join our team of highly skilled scrub practitioners. 

The West Wing Operating Theatre Department is a -theatre unit and provides elective and emergency care for adults and children. It has one of four highly specialist craniofacial centres in the UK, one of seven specialist units for cleft lip & palate surgery. It is a tertiary referral centre for Plastics Reconstructive surgery. Other specialties include Oro-Maxilla-Facial, Neurosurgery, ENT, Ophthalmology and children (General surgery & Orthopaedics). 

Main duties of the job

We have three Band scrub vacancy within Plastics/Maxfacs Theatres. You must be capable of the following:

Develop the ability to work effectively at a more senior level, Develop the ability to make effective decisions based on all available information and guide the rest of the theatre team to deliver high quality care to our patients, Develop negotiating and motivational skills, Actively participate in the development of yourself and other staff (includes the appraisal process, sickness management of your team members to a certain degree, participation in clinical auditing),  Ability to analyze audits, incident reports and risk, taking appropriate action to remedy, Has specialist knowledge across a range of surgical specialties and desirable that you have at least years experience in the chosen specialties. Act as a resource for the development and implementation of LocSSIP, Policies and Standard Operating Procedures Supports the evaluation and implementation of Trust, Divisional and Directorate Quality Priorities, Manage change effectively, establishing appropriate goals and delivering change in a realistic time frame (problem solving), Acts as a role model for professional values and behaviour and supports other staff in their learning and education, Ability to develop and demonstrate leadership skills. Human and material resources management will be within the scope of practice of a senior practitioner. Acting as shift coordinator. Working for our organisation
