Foreign Rights Executive/Manager (Nordic)

Are you a highly organised, creative, multi-lingual person? If so, you may be the right candidate to join our Rights team. We are looking for either a Foreign Rights Executive or Manager, depending on your level of experience. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team representing our fantastic adults’ imprints in key European markets.

Quarto creates inspiring books for adults and children published across the globe. You will be a key player in helping maximise foreign rights sales and co-editions.

Working hours

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We currently operate a discretionary hybrid model, with three days in our London office and two working from home.

About the role

You will play a key role developing sales of our adult lists in the following territories: Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, and Norway.

Main responsibilities:

  • Reach and exceed set revenue and margin targets.
  • Negotiate prices and commercial terms with customers for co-edition and royalty deals.
  • Maximise sales with existing publishing partners via trips to the markets.
  • Expand existing customer base and pursue new sales initiatives.
  • Provide sales figures, forecast, and trend analysis.

Depending on how the skills and experience of the successful candidate align to the role, an offer will be made at either executive or manager level.

About you

We are looking for salespeople with excellent communication and commercial skills. You will have a track record of identifying exciting sales opportunities, and the ability to turn them into confirmed business. You will enjoy a fast-paced environment and have the flexibility to adapt to change . Fluency in English is a must, additional languages – ideally Nordic – are desirable.

You will be able to show you can:

  • Maintain and build superb customer relationships.
  • Demonstrate outstanding numeracy and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortably manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Use Microsoft Office at an advanced level
