PP & K Teacher: Okemos Public Montessori @ Central – 100%

Qualifications :

Michigan K-5 Teaching Certification. Must be highly qualified Ability to demonstrate and communicate a passion for working with children.  Ability to demonstrate and communicate a passion and value for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ability to demonstrate and communicate a strong knowledge base of the content for 3, 4 and 5 year old students. Have the ability to demonstrate and communicate a strong knowledge of effective pedagogy that aligns with the Montessori program. (The Okemos Public Schools will train the selected candidate if they have not had been trained.) Ability to communicate and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and professionally with our faculty and administrative colleagues.

Responsibilities:

● Facilitate learning for 3, 4 and 5 year old students.

● Create learning plans for all students that ensure grade-level learning is taking place.

● Monitor progress for all students’ learning and developmental goals.

● Facilitate Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports for the students in the classroom.

● Participate in professional development.

● Engage with parents, families, and community members.
