Main duties of the job

The successful candidate would be expected to work alongside other clinicians in the primary care team in the provision of patient care and undertake the following:

Complex wound care

Vaccination and immunisations

Travel health advise and immunisation

Venepuncture

Adherence and proactive to the demands of the Quality and Outcomes Framework with particular view to Diabetes Asthma and COPD

Family planning and Women's Health

Male health

Recognise and work within own competencies and professional code of conduct regulated by the NMC

Jobsummary PRACTICE NURSE

Thepost holder is responsible for the delivery of basic practice nursing servicescare to the practice population. Supported by other practice nurses within thepractice, they will deliver care within the boundaries of their role, focusingupon supporting patients to be healthy, monitoring of long-term conditions,health prevention and screening activities. They will work collaboratively withthe general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting thedelivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required.

This would include all aspectsincluding coil fittingMale Health:Initiate opportunistic consultations with patients tocover issues of mens health; make appropriate referralsGeneral:Be aware of current evidence based approaches topatient care and demonstrate this in practice.Demonstrate clinical expertise in undertake a recognised training programme leadingto any appropriate qualification specified by the Practice undertake work away from the surgery wherenecessary.
