To help us to recruit Social Workers who are committed to working in Middlesbrough we are currently offering a 10% market supplement to Social Work salaries. This additional 10% will be reviewed at the end of March 2025.

Our focus is on supporting vulnerable adults over 18 with a wide range of needs, including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, autism, substance use, domestic abuse, mental health, and homelessness. If you have experience in these areas or a keen interest in supporting and learning more about these needs, this could be the role you are looking for.
We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified Social Worker who can effectively manage a complex caseload of clients with severe and enduring mental health needs whilst assessing the social care needs of individuals to deliver comprehensive care plans to meet specific needs.
Due to the nature of this role, you will hold an interesting and varied caseload so being adaptable and flexible is key to your success. In return you will receive superb training opportunities and career planning alongside, flexible working with the option of a blended working environment (home and office where appropriate).
New staff joining Middlesbrough can expect a warm welcome from the team, directors and Chief Executive as well as workplace buddy and full induction process. Applicants are sought from individuals who have an interest in Mental Health.
For newly qualified Social Workers we provide a high level of support to complete the Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE) with experienced Social Workers providing regular and tailored guidance and input. For experience Social Workers there are opportunities for further professional development including training as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP). For those already qualified as AMHP following approval to practice a generous market supplement is available.

An Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) payment is made on the basis that an employee participates in the AMHP rota. If an employee can only commit to a proportion of the rota, for instance they work part-time, the payment will be pro-rata’d to account for this. It is an expectation of the AMHP role that employees participate in the rota, however, there may on occasion be exceptional circumstances that will not allow an employee to participate. Those who do not participate will not receive the additional payment and continue to be paid at the appropriate level for the work being undertaken.
