Summary


The Operations department is responsible for ensuring the complete end-to-end processing of the Bank's transactions and services. They are responsible for ensuring that the appropriate control framework exists to ensure the accuracy of this processing as well as the recording of this in the Bank's books and records. Operations are also responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of the Bank's transactions to multiple regulatory stakeholders globally.
The Operations department performs the following functions:

-Clearing and Vaulting Services
-Structured and Banking Products support
-Facilitation of trade finance and documentary credit products

-Payments Sanctions Screening
-Collateral Management
Operations Control
- Balance sheet substantiation
- Nostro production and reconciliations
- Risk and control oversight and monitoring
-Regulatory Operations
-Cash, Interest Claims and Nostro management
-Brokerage Services
-FX, money market, NDF and OTC derivative settlements
-OTC derivatives and securities confirmations

Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is the execution of Collateral Management functions within the Collateral Management team:
Collateral Management is a function within the FIC & Banking Operations department which is responsible for the collateralisation of several products including, but not limited to; Derivatives, FX, Repo and Commodities.
Reporting to the Manager, Collateral Management, you will be responsible for the set up and maintenance of margining agreements, issuing and agreeing margin calls on a daily basis, booking and managing Collateral and resolving any disputes.
As part of the collateral management function, a central pillar of our Credit Risk mitigation as a bank, you will interact closely with various stakeholders such as Front Office, Legal, Risk, Trade Support, Credit, Finance as well as the wider Operations division.
The role-holder is also responsible for cross-training across other functions within the FIC & Banking Ops department as the need may arise.

Key Responsibilities

-Ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner
-Seeking efficient solutions to the tasks performed by the team
-Ensuring adherence to all relevant Bank standards and policies.
-Ensuring that the service provided by Collateral Management to internal and external clients is delivered to an excellent standard.
-Ensuring that Collateral Management works collaboratively and effectively with other Operations teams in all global locations to enable excellent service to be delivered by the Operations department to internal and external clients.
-Working collaboratively with Technology colleagues to ensure that systems relied on by Collateral Management are fit for purpose and where enhancements are required they are ratified and appropriately prioritised.
-Ensuring understanding of the CASS sourcebook to the extent that it impacts Collateral Management (in particular CASS 3). Ensuring that all procedures are adequate for processes impacting CASS, procedures are followed within the team and escalation processes are followed on a timely basis.
-Working collaboratively with Operations Control on risk management and control enhancements (but without over-reliance on Operations Control).
-Proactively and promptly managing any risk incidents that relate to or impact Collateral Management team.
-Promoting diversity, challenge and teamwork within the Collateral Management team.
-Role modelling the Bank's values and promoting those values within the Operations department.
-Promoting integrity and openness across the Operations Team and in its client and stakeholder service.
-Supporting integration initiatives between the Operations department and ICBC head office / other ICBC entities.
-Willingly participating in Operations and Bank-wide initiatives


Experience required to successfully perform the role:
-Experience of working in a regulated environment, ideally Financial Services
-Experience within a collateral management function preferred

Knowledge, technical skills and expertise:
-Business knowledge Understanding of the Uncleared Swap Margin rules preferred
-Understanding of FCA rules and regulations or equivalent
-Understanding of risk and control
-Banking knowledge
